WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BEATS CALDWELL COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (11/30/11) The Dominican College women's basketball team opened up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 53-48 victory over the visiting Cougars of Caldwell College in a game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center this evening. With the victory Dominican improves to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while Caldwell falls to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

With the victory Dominican improves to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while Caldwell falls to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Dominican led 9-6 with 15:34 left in the first stanza when the Lady Chargers went on an 11-2 tear to claim 20-8 lead and led by as many as 14 points en route to a 34-24 lead at the break.
Caldwell cut the deficit to five points (50-45) with 35 seconds left in regulation and made it a three point game (50-47) with 0:11 on the clock, but the Lady Chargers closed out the game going 3-4 from the free throw line to secure the 53-48 victory.
Junior Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) led the Lady Chargers with the double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. Guard Shannon Lavelle* (Floral Park, NY) netted 10 points, while Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) added seven points and three steals.
DC is back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Concordia College in a CACC contest. Game time is slated for 1pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
