WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE
Colchester, NH (11/19/11) The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team improved to 4-0 after defeating the Dominican College women's basketball team, 52-44, this afternoon at the 28th DoubleTree Tip-Off Classic hosted by Saint Michael's College. Following the loss Dominican falls to 0-2 on the season.
Colchester, NH (11/19/11) The Saint Anselm College women's basketball team improved to 4-0 after defeating the Dominican College women's basketball team, 52-44, this afternoon at the 28th DoubleTree Tip-Off Classic hosted by Saint Michael's College. Following the loss Dominican falls to 0-2 on the season.
Saint Anselm snapped a 5-all tie with nine straight points and never again lost the lead. Dominican rallied twice to within three points as KC Jentzen (Pearl River, NY) netted a basket with 9:08 left in the first half to make the score 18-15. However the Hawks went on a 12-2 run to take a 27-17 lead into the intermission.
A Jentzen layup with 14:50 left in regulation made the score 32-28, however Saint Anselm went on to outscore DC 12-3 to increase their lead to 44-31 and went on to the 52-44 victory.
Jentzen led the Lady Chargers with 15 points, shooting 6-9 from the floor. Guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) scored 12 points and three steals in the loss.
DC returns to action on November 28th when they host New York Institute of Technology in a non-conference game to be played at 6pm on Coach Baxter Court.
