KLUNK NAMED CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NEW HAVEN, CT (11/16/10) Marley Klunk of Dominican College has been selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the opening week of the regular-season. Concordia College's Katie Nicosey was the choice for Rookie of the Week.
NEW HAVEN, CT (11/16/10) Marley Klunk of Dominican College has been selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the opening week of the regular-season. Concordia College's Katie Nicosey was the choice for Rookie of the Week.
Klunk, a 5-8 junior forward from York, Pa., led Dominican to a 2-0 opening week with averages of 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 52.2-percent from the field. She tallied 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting and 11 rebounds in a victory over Mercy College.
Nicosey, a 5-6 freshman guard from Staten Island, N.Y., averaged 9.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per-game in her first two collegiate contests. In her debut, shot 4-for-8 from three-point range en route to 16 points and four rebounds against Southern New Hampshire.

Victoria Sweet, Nyack (Sr., F, Harlem, NY) - Averaged 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per-game in a 1-1 week for the Warriors.
Caitlin Shaw, USci (Sr., F, 5-10, Eatontown, NJ) - Tallied 23 points and eight rebounds in a season-opening victory over Cheyney.
Tiffany McDaniel, Bloomfield (Sr., C, 6-1, Colonia, NJ) - Averaged a double-double in a 1-1 opening week (11.0 points, 10.5 rebounds).
Gillian Felix, Caldwell (So., C, 6-2, Mahopac, NY) - Registered 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in a 70-65 loss to Adelphi.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - The Lady Deacons opened up their 2010-2011 season by going 1-1 at the American International College Tournament. Senior center Tiffany McDaniel posted back-to-back double-doubles, including a 10-point, 11-rebound performance in the club's victory over UMass-Lowell. Senior guard Robyn Burton shined in the victory over the Riverhawks, notching 14 points off the bench to help seal the win.
Caldwell - The Cougars opened the 2010-11 season with a non-conference loss to Adelphi on Saturday in the Newman Center. Sophomore center Gillian Felix tallied 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks to lead Caldwell, which also received 14 points from senior guard Kirsty Leedham. The Cougars play in the Stonehill Tournament this weekend, facing Assumption on Friday and the host Skyhawks on Saturday.
Post - The Eagles will host Bridgeport on Thursday night and Washington Adventist comes to Waterbury on Sunday.
