LASKOWSKI LEADS LADY CHARGERS OVER LE MOYNE COLLEGE AT ECAC HOLIDAY CLASSIC

Caldwell, NJ (10/20/09)  Senior forward Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ) had a game leading 16 points in leading the Dominican College women's basketball team past the Dolphins of Le Moyne College, 50-29 this afternoon at the ECAC Holiday Classic being hosted by Caldwell College.

In a game where the Lady Chargers never lost the lead, Dominican  used a 14-4 run late in the first half to turn a 15-10 advantage into a  28-14 halftime lead.  Laskowski tallied nine points in the first stanza while senior guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) added seven first half points and seven rebounds.

Dominican continued to dominate the second half, holding the Dolphins to just 15 points.  Freshman guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) hit a three-point basket wat the 12:15 mark to give DC a commanding 42-21 lead and they never looked back en route to the 50-29 victory.

Laskowski was the only scorer with double figures for the game as Sainten finished with seven points and grabbed a team leading 12 rebounds.  Lopez finished with nine points (all three-point baskets) off the bench, while freshman guard Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) added seven points in the win.

After the game Laskowski was named the ECAC Player of the Game.

With the victory Dominican improves to 6-3 overall. 

The Lady Chargers are back in action on December 29th and 30th at the Saint Anselm College Holiday Classic.  DC will take on Franklin Pierce University on the 29th at 5pm and will face the host on the 30th at 7pm.
