PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY TURNS BACK LADY CHARGERS

Orangeburg, NY (1/23/10) The visiting Rams of Philadelphia University turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 59-43 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
Philadelphia shot 44.9% (22-49) from the floor for the game compared to Dominican's 22.2% (14-63). Dominican trailed 27-25 at the intermission but a 15-1 run by the Rams to start the second half gave them a 42-26 lead and they never looked back en route to the 59-43 victory.
Senior Kate Brennan (Stratford, NJ) and sophomore Christine Wooding (Northfield, NJ) led the Rams with 14 points a-piece and combined for 17 caroms (Brennan recording seven and Wooding with 10 rebounds for the game's only double-double). Freshman Taylor Peltzer (Holland, PA) netted 10 points and five rebounds in the win.
Senior guard Rachelle Sainten (Spring Valley, NY) led teh Lady Chargers with 11 points. Freshman Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) added nine points and four rebounds, while Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) came off the bench to net six points in the loss.
With the loss Dominican falls to 9-7 overall and 6-2 in the CACC, while Philadelphia improves to 7-8 overall and 5-2 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Thursday, January 28th when they travel to CACC opponent, Concordia College, for a 6pm game.
