DOMINICAN'S CHAMBERS GARNISHES ECAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

Orangeburg, NY (2/17/09)  Dominican College women's basketball player, Althea Chambers, picked up her third Player of the Week honors as she was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week for the week ending February 15th.

Chambers, a senior guard from Yonkers, NY, averaged 35 points, 11.rebounds, 3.5 steals, and three assists in two games for Dominican last week.  She registered 27 points and 15 rebounds in a victory over Bloomfield and tallied 43 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a triple-overtime loss at Philadelphia.  Chambers shot 58.8 percent (20-for-34) from the field and 92.9 percent (26-for-28) from the free throw line for the week.

Earlier today she was named the Prestosports/MBWA Player of the week and tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week accolades yesterday.
