CHAMBERS NAMED PRESTOSPORTS/MBWA WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chambers Dominates for Dominican

White Plains, NY (2/17/09) Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) earns this week's PrestoSports/MBWA Player of the Week for leading the Dominican College women's basketball team with 35.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game as the Chargers split a pair of contests. Dominican (14-10; 11-3 CACC) beat Bloomfield 76-57 before falling to Philadelphia University 114-104 in triple overtime.

The senior guard netted her 1,000th point against Bloomfield. At Philadelphia, she scored a career-high 43 points in the triple overtime loss. For the week, she shot 58.8% from the floor, 80.0% from behind the arc and 92.9% from the charity stripe.

Dominican will travel to Post University on Thursday before celebrating Think Pink Day on Saturday, as they host Chestnut Hill.
