Lady Chargers Charge Past Post Eagles, 90-71

Waterbury, CT (1/22/07) The Dominican College Lady Chargers charged past the Post University Eagles, 90-71 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the Drubner Center.

Waterbury, CT (1/22/07)  The Dominican College Lady Chargers charged past the Post University Eagles, 90-71 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the Drubner Center.

Dominican took a commanding 59-35 lead at halftime, behind a 14 point performance from CACC Rookie of the Week, Adele Laskowski (Wayne, NJ).  DC shot 60% from the floor in the half.

Laskowski led the team with 19 points in the win.  Jackie Tracey-Spitaleri (Bronx, NY) and junior guard Dana Rotio (Garfield, NJ) each netted 15 points, while Tracey-Spitaleri added seven assists and six rebounds.  Sophomore Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) contributed 12 points, five rebounds and four steals off the bench.

The Eagles were led by Tadj Williams with the game's only double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Telisha Moultrie scored 18 points, while Latoya Coley had 14 points in the loss.  Jennifer Rose contributed 10 points off the bench.

With the win, Dominican improves to 11-6 overall and 7-5 in the CACC, while Post drops to 3-14 overall and 3-9 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Wednesday when they host Felician College in CACC women's action.  Game time is 6pm.
