Philadelphia University Rallys to Defeat Lady Chargers, 76-71
Philadelphia, PA (2/4/06) The Lady Rams of Philadelphia University rallied from a 13 point deficit to defeat the Lady Chargers of Dominican College in CACC women's hoops action in the Harris Gymnasium.
Dominican had a 41-28 point lead at the half, led by senior shooter Jill Younghans (Succasunna, NJ) who had 13 points. However, Philadelphia University fought back to pull out the 76-71 victory.
The Lady Chargers were led by senior Jill Younghans (Succasunna, NJ) with 25 points, while fellow senior Ashley Rossi (Greenwood Lake, NY) added 14 points and five rebounds. Beth DePalo (Rumson, NJ) and Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) combined for 16 rebounds in the loss.
The Lady Rams had three players reach double figures, led by Meg Abele with 22 points. Ashley Webster knotched a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Nicole Mechell added 15 points in the win.
With the win, Philadelphia University improved to 15-5 overall and 13-4 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 14-8 overall and 12-5 in the CACC.
DC is back in action on Tuesday, February 7th when they host New Jersey Institute of Technology in a CACC match up. Game time is 6pm at the Hennessy Center.
