GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY LIONS SNAP WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL WIN STREAK
Lakewood, NJ (10/31/09) The Georgian Court University Lions snapped the visiting Dominican College Lady Chargers volleyball team's 10-match winning streak with a 3-0 (11-25, 15-25, 21-25) victory this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
Freshman outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led the Lady Chargers with six kills, while freshman Kristen Loney (Pine Bush, NY) added four kills and two solo blocks in the loss.
Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) led the team with eight assists and tallied three block assists. Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) had a team leading eight defensive digs.
With the loss Dominican now stands at 20-9 overall and 14-4 in the CACC, while Georgian Court improves to 22-8 overall and 17-0 in the CACC while extending the CACC winning streak to 68 straight matches.
DC returns to action on Tuesday night when they host CACC-rival Nyack College for a 7pm match on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. This is the regular season finale for the Lady Chargers who will celebrate Senior Night before getting ready for the upcoming CACC Tournament.
