MOLLOY COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL TURNS BACK LADY CHARGERS

Blauvelt, NY (10/22/07)     The visiting Molloy College Lady Lions turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-1 (30-32, 20-30, 30-28, 26-30) this evening in a non-conference match on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

The Lady Lions had three players in double digits in kills, as Laura Haynes (Garden City, NY) led all attackers with 14 kills.  Arielle Wichard (Merrick, NY) added 11 kills, while Angela Barra (East Meadow, NY) had 10 kills in the win.  Libero Monika Rodziewicz (Poland) led the team with 17 defensive digs, while setters Danielle Sekesan (Hicksville, NY) and Kara Kerley (Wantagh, NY) each had 21 assists.

The Lady Chargers were led by junior outside hitter Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) with 12 kills, while Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) had 10 kills.  Libero Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) led the team with 13 defensive digs, while freshman Catherine Giordano (Stony Point, NY) added 11 digs in the loss.  Setter Katlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 22 assists.

With the win, Molloy College improves to 12-13 overall, while the Dominican fall to 5-13 overall.

Dominican is back in action on Thursday when they travel to Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match.  Game time is 7pm.
