WILDCATS BLANK DOMINICAN IN VOLLEYBALL

New Castle, DE (10/13/07) The Wildcats of Wilmington University swept the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at the Pratt Gymnasium.  Wilmington won the three games by scores of 30-15, 30-24, and 31-29.

Sophomore middle hitter Katie Mason led the Wildcats attack with nine kills.  Freshman Meghan Frick posted a match-high 28 digs and five aces, while senior middle Julia Atkins had six kills and three blocks.  Senior setter Cheyann Gilroyadded 30 assists and 6 digs for Wilmington.

Dominican was led by Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) who notched 11 kills and 14 digs.  Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) added seven kills, and Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) chipped in with 12 assists and 12 digs.  Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) recorded a team-high 20 digs for the Chargers. 

With the win, Wilmingtonimproved to 5-5 in the CACC and 8-16 overall, while Dominican dropped to 3-8 in the conference and 3-11 on the season.

The Chargers on Tuesday when they travel to Nyack College in CACC volleyball action.  Game time is 7pm.
