WOMEN'S TRACK TAKE PART IN NEW JERSEY INVITATIONAL
Ewing, NJ (4/14/12) The Dominican College women's track team traveled to the New Jersey Invitational which was hosted by the College of New Jersey today.
Freshman Amber Lacey (Mount Vernon, NY) ran in the 100 meter dash preliminaries where she finished 14th with a time of 13.51. Sharrika Brent (Brooklyn, NY) finished in 22nd place with a time of 14.55.
Lacey also competed in the 200 meter dash where she took 14th place with a time of 27.93. Junior Ashley Hodges (Bronx, NY) ran a time of 29.97 to finish in 26th place. Brent finished in 29th place with a time of 30.64.
Sophomore Jessica Avila (Mount Vernon, NY) competed in the 400 meter dash and took 14th place with a time of 1:04.26. Teammate Renee Roncace (Valley Cottage, NY) finished in 17th place with a time of 1:04.98. Hodges took 25th place with a time of 1:09.90.
In the 800 meter dash, Samantha Klunk (York, PA) and Roncace took 15th and 16th place with times of 2:37.30 and 2:37.37.
Klunk had the high finish of the day for Dominican as she took second place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:49.86.
Brittany Austin (Highland Mills, NY) had a third place finish in the discus throw.
DC is back in action at the Yale Invitational on April 29th.
