PLANTE TABBED ECAC HITTER OF THE WEEK

Centerville, MA (4/17/12) The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its Division I-II-III (regional) softball weekly awards for the April 9-15 period, which ended Sunday. Dominican College player, Julie Plante, has been named the Division II Hitter of the Week.

Centerville, MA (4/17/12)  The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its Division I-II-III (regional) softball weekly awards for the April 9-15 period, which ended Sunday.  Dominican College player, Julie Plante, has been named the Division II Hitter of the Week.

Plante, a junior shortstop from Swansea, MA, batted .457 last week (21-for-46) and led Dominican to a 10-2 record. The junior totaled 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in 12 contests. She had a .826 slugging percentage on the strength of three home runs, two triples and four doubles. Against Dowling on Sunday, she collected her 200th career hit to add to her accolades.

This is her first ECAC Hitter of the Week honors this season.

Plante was also named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week, which was announced yesterday.

The Lady Chargers are currently 30-14 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.
