LADY CHARGERS SOFTBALL TAKE TWO FROM COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE
Clermont, FL (3/3/12) The Dominican College softball team evened up their overall record to 4-4 after defeating the College of Saint Rose in a non-conference double-header played at the National Training Center. Dominican took the first game, 7-0 and won the nightcap, 4-0.
Game One: The Lady Charger offense exploded for eight runs on 11 hits in the 8-0 opener. Deidre Jeppson* (Sylmar, CA) went 3-4 in the game with two runs scored and three RBIs. Ashley Corrao (Staten Island, NY) also collected three hits and three RBIs in the victory.
Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) picked up the shutout victory, allowing just two hits and collecting eight strikeouts.
Game Two: Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on the RBI double by Wassmann. The team added three runs in the fifth as Corrao doubled home two runs and then scored on a fielding error for the 4-0 victory.
Katrina Pistilli* (Staten Island, NY) got the win (1-2), scattering just three hits in the shutout victory.
DC returns to the National Training Center games tomorrow when they take on Northern State University and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
