CHILDERS EARNS CACC PITCHER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Orangeburg, NY (4/4/11) Dominican College softball player, Delaney Childers, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 3rd. Angela D'Amico of Concordia College has garnered CACC Softball Player of the Week, while Kelsi Ludwigsen of Felician College was selected Rookie of the Week.

Angela D'Amico of Concordia College has garnered CACC Softball Player of the Week, while Kelsi Ludwigsen of Felician College was selected Rookie of the Week.
Childers, a 5-7 left-hander from Johnstown, Ohio, went 3-0 on the week with a 1.21 ERA. She threw a complete game shutout against Caldwell with 12 strikeouts and only four hits allowed. She also beat Holy Family twice, once as a starter and once in relief. She gave up only two walks to go with 19 strikeouts in 17.1 innings of work.
D'Amico, a 5-2 3B from Old Bridge, N.J., hit .692 with five runs scored, four runs batted in and four doubles in a 4-0 week. She went 5-for-6 with three doubles, one run and one RBI in a 12-inning win over Goldey-Beacom. She also had a 2-for-3 performance with three RBI in a win over Bloomfield in game 2.
Ludwigsen, a 5-3 freshman outfielder from Havre de Grace, Md. hit .545 with nine runs batted in and two doubles in four games. She set a school record with seven RBI in a game 1 win at Post on Tuesday, going 3-for-5 at the plate.

Shannon Graves, GBC (Jr., UT, Glassboro, NJ) - Hit .727 in a 2-2 week with six runs scored and four RBI.
Julie Plante, Dominican (So., 1B, Swansea, MA) - Led DC to a 4-0 week with a .538 average with four RBI and two runs.
Katie Warrnington, Wilmington (So., RHP, Townsend, DE) - Went 2-0 last week with a 0.50 ERA and 23 K's in 14 IP.
Cassandra Cefolo, Caldwell (So., 3B, Florham Park, NJ) - Hit .476 with five RBI, three runs and one HR in a 4-2 week.
Courtney Spina, USci (So., RHP, Thornton, PA) - Went 1-1 on the week with a 0.54 ERA.
CACC Notes
Caldwell - The Cougars went 4-2 last week, sweeping New Haven and Philadelphia and losing twice to Dominican. Sophomore Cassandra Cefolo batted .476 (10-for-21) with a home run, two doubles, three runs and five RBI, including a 3-for-4 performance with a home run in a 5-1 win over Philadelphia. The Cougars host four doubleheaders this week, with Nyack coming to Caldwell on Tuesday, Pace on Thursday, Georgian Court on Friday and Dowling on Sunday.
Concordia - The Clippers started their CACC season after much awaited anticipation and came away 4-0. The Clippers defeated Bloomfield in 5 innings in the first game of the double header and then swept them with a 9-5 win in game two. The Clippers then went toe-to-toe with Goldey-Beacom as they took the first game in 12 innings, with starting pitcher Rachel Cannata going the full 12 innings. The Clippers then took game two over Goldey-Beacom, 7-2.
Dominican - Dominican improved to 18-8 overall and 8-0 in conference play this week after a 4-0 week with victories over Caldwell and Holy Family to extend its winning streak to 11 games. Junior pitcher Katrina Pistilli earned her 43rd career victory in the 5-4 win over Caldwell to set a school record previously set by Christine Stathes in 2008.
Georgian Court - Rachel Ruch (Jr.) and Brooke Hull (Jr.) led the GCU offense in the Lions' split with Holy Family last Tuesday. Ruch went 4-for-6 with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs scored and three RBI while Hull also provided a 4-for-6 effort with two doubles, a run scored and four RBI … Georgian Court has a busy week with a non-conference twin-bill at Adelphi University Tuesday afternoon followed by CACC doubleheaders at vs. University of the Sciences (Wednesday) and Nyack College (Saturday).
Felician - In Felician's 12-11, nine-inning Game 1 victory at Post on Mar. 29, freshman C Kelsi Ludwigsen set a school record with seven RBI. Senior IF Lauren DeGrushe's first-inning home run in that game gave her the Felician career RBI mark. She currently has 77 RBI, passing the 74 of Jenna Krowl (2006-09). The Golden Falcons have played a school-record five games against nationally-ranked teams this season (at time of game), including three vs. current No. 25 Kutztown. Felician has already had five doubleheaders postponed due to weather/field conditions.
Philadelphia - The Rams claimed one win in a four game week, splitting their CACC double-header against Wilmington. The upcoming week holds three double-header contests as PhilaU hosts Goldey-Beacom (4/6), Chestnut Hill (4/7) and Molloy (4/10).
USciences - The Devils won their first conference game of the season on Saturday, defeating Nyack 11-1 in game 2. Four conference doubleheaders on tap this week for the devils with road games at Chestnut Hill and Georgian Court on Monday and Wednesday and home contests vs. Holy Family (makeup from 4/1) on 4/8 and Concordia on 4/9. Courtney Spina (Thornton, Pa.) moved into seventh place on the Devils all-time strikeout list this week, fanning 12 batters to give her 149 for her career.
