WASSMANN AND CHILDERS EARN CACC WEEKLY ACCOLADES
Orangeburg, NY (3/21/11) Dominican College softball players, Shelby Wassmann and Delaney Childers, have earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Accolades for the week ending March, 21st. Wassmann has been named the CACC Player and Rookie of the Week, while Childers has earned CACC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors.
Orangeburg, NY (3/21/11) Dominican College softball players, Shelby Wassmann and Delaney Childers, have earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly Accolades for the week ending March, 21st. Wassmann has been named the CACC Player and Rookie of the Week, while Childers has earned CACC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors.
Wassmann, a freshman infielder and designated player who hails from Loudoun, VA, hit .533 in a 5-1 week with six runs,six RBI, four doubles and one home run, along with a 1.000 slugging percentage. She went 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBI in game 2 against University of the Sciences and homered in a 2-1 win in game 1 against the Devils. Wassmann also drove in a pair of runs against Le Moyne.
Childers, a sophomore left handed hurler from Johnstown, OH, went 3-0 last week with a 0.37 ERA . She allowed only one run on nine hits in 19.0 IP with 22 strikeouts, while issueing only one walk.
