Dominican's Stathes Named to the 2006 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Team

Blauvelt, NY (5/14/06) Dominican College softball player Christine Stathes has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Team.

Stathes, a sophomore, played in 53 out of 55 games this year for the Lady Chargers both in the field and on the mound. She batted .315 this season, which was third on the team, recorded 51 hits with eight doubles, three triples and a team leading nine home runs. She finished second on the team with 32 RBIs and a .568 slugging percentage. She had a perfect fielding percentage, recording 38 outs this year.

On the mound, she recorded a 13-6 record with two saves in 27 appearances. She started 19 games with 10 complete games and had two shut outs. In 138 innings pitched, Stathes recorded 89 strikeouts with opponents hitting .223 against her. She finished the season with a 2.13 ERA.

Stathes, a native of Cornwall, NY, was named to the second team in the Northeast region.
