MEN'S SOCCER BLANK GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/22/12) The Dominican College men's soccer team blanked the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on the DC Soccer Field. With the win, Dominican improves to 4-2-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

(9/22/12)  The Dominican College men's soccer team blanked the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on the DC Soccer Field.  With the win, Dominican improves to 4-2-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Sophomore midfielder Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) tallied two goals in the contest.  His first came just 1:14 into the game on a shot from five yards out after a pass from Pedro De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) for the early 1-0 lead.

Senior Alex Rodier (Williamstown, N.J.) put DC up 2-0 after a cross from Walsh and a shot from six yards out in the 53rd minute of action.

Walsh struck for his second goal of the game at the 68:21 mark on a shot from six yards out after a cross from Clodalain Lolo (Stony Point, N.Y.) for the 3-0 score.

The Chargers dominated the offensive side of the game as they outshot the Lightning, 26-5 and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Goalie Andres Ruiz (Medellin, Colombia) had three saves.

Dominican is back in action when they host Felician College in a CACC game on Wednesday at the DC Soccer Field.
