MEN'S SOCCER EDGE POST UNIVERSITY

Orangeburg, NY (10/28/11) The Dominican College men's soccer team won their final regular season game of the 2011 season as they defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Post University, 1-0 this afternoon on Senior Day at the DC Soccer Field. With the win, Dominican improves to 9-5-3 overall and 7-2-2 in the conference, while Post falls to 9-3-4 overall and 8-2-1 in the CACC.

Orangeburg, NY (10/28/11)  The Dominican College men's soccer team won their final regular season game of the 2011 season as they defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Post University, 1-0 this afternoon on Senior Day at the DC Soccer Field.  With the win, Dominican improves to 9-5-3 overall and 7-2-2 in the conference, while Post falls to 9-3-4 overall and 8-2-1 in the CACC.

The lone goal of the game came at the 56:30 mark when forward Jorge Zubillaga (Uruguay) netted his seventh goal of the season off the double pass from seniors Artan Balaj (New City, NY) and John Langdon (Bellport, NY) for the 1-0 victory.

The Eagles had a scoring opportunity with 1:27 remaining in the contest but senior goalie Brandon Heembrock* (Ottawa, Canada) came up with a big save to secure the win.

The Chargers outshot the Eagles 16-11, while Post held a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Today was the final regular season home game for seniors: Balaj, Heembrock, Langdon and Alan Heavey (Huntington Station, NY).

Dominican returns to action on Monday in a CACC Quarter-Final game scheduled for 2pm on the DC Soccer Field.
