New Castle, DE (10/4/11) The Dominican College men's soccer squad played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with host Wilmington University this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. With the tie, Dominican now stands at 4-3-3 overall and 3-1-2 in conference play.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute of action.
Dominican's lone goal came at the 51:19 mark when Pedro Franklin De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) passed the ball to Jorge Zubillaga (Uruguay) who then netted a goal from 23 yards out to tie the score at 1-1.
WU out shot the Chargers 16-12 and held an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior keeper Brandon Heembrock* (Ottawa, Canada) made four saves in the tie.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Nyack College in CACC men's soccer action scheduled to start at 2:30 pm.
