NARRO NAMED CACC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Orangeburg, NY (11/2/10) Sony Narro has been the 2010 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year and four other players received All-CACC recognition as was announced by the conference office today. Brandon Heembrock, John Dumbuya and Alex Rodier received All-CACC First Team honors, while Matthew Shutter and Narro was named to the All-CACC Second Team.

Brandon Heembrock, John Dumbuya and Alex Rodier received All-CACC First Team honors, while Matthew Shutter and Narro was named to the All-CACC Second Team.
Narro, a freshman midfielder from Stamford, Conn., has been one of the offensive leaders in his first collegiate season for the Chargers, who will serve as the No. 3 seed in this week's CACC Tournament. Narro ranks seventh in the conference with 16 points and stands fourth with six assists. Narro is the second-leading scorer on the Chargers, is second in goals and paces the team in assists. He netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Le Moyne. Narro also claimed second team All-CACC status in addition to being named Rookie of the Year.
Heembrock, a junior goalie from Ottawa, Canada, is one of only two repeat first team selections from 2009. Heembrock leads the CACC in goals against average (0.80), shutouts per game (0.40) and saves percentage (.870) and is tied for shutouts with six. He is ranked seventh in the conference in saves per game (5.33) and eighth in saves (80).
Dumbuya, a senior defender from Boston, MA, makes his first appearance on the All-CACC team. He has started all 18 games this season for Dominican, recording one goal and is a vital component of the Charger defense that has allowed 12 goals this season with a goals against average of 0.64.
Rodier, a sophomore forward from Williamstown, NJ, leads the Chargers in scoring with nine goals and in points with 19. He ranks second in the CACC in both shots and shots per game, while ranking fifth in points. Rodier is also ranked sixth in points per game, fifth in goals per game and third in goals.
Second team honors also went to Shutter, who is another vital member of the Charger defense. He has also started all 18 games this season and has recorded three goals, including the game winner against Caldwell College in overtime.
