SHUTTER NETS GAME WINNER AS MEN'S SOCCER DEFEAT CALDWELL COLLEGE
Caldwell, NJ (10/30/10) Sophomore defender Matthew Shutter (Alpine, NY) netted the game winning goal almost six minutes into the first overtime period to give the Chargers, 2-1, victory over host Caldwell College this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. The Chargers clinch third place in the CACC and improve to 12-3-2 overall and end the regular season with a conference record of 7-2-2.

After playing through a scoreless first half, the Chargers got on the board in the 48th minute when sophomore midfielder Sony Narro (Stamford, CT) back-heeled a loose ball of a corner kick into the right side of the net to give DC a 1-0 lead.
The Cougars tied the game at the 65:25 mark on a shot from 15 yards out into the left side of the net to make the score 1-1.
With neither team able to score during the final 25 minutes of regulation, the game went into over time where Shutter headed the game winning goal into the net off the corner kick from Alan Heavey (Huntington Station, NY) at 95:58.
The Chargers took six shots in overtime and held a 23-13 advantage in shots for the game.
Dominican enters into the CACC Tournament this coming Tuesday with a first-round home game scheduled for 2pm on the DC Soccer Field.
