TWO MEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS NAMED TO NCAA DIVISION II ALL-REGION TEAM

Orangeburg, NY (12/9/09) Dominican College men's soccer players, Joe Wright and Clifton Huxtable, have been named to the 2009 NCAA Division II All-East Region Team as was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) today. Wright was named to the First Team, while Huxtable received Third Team honors.
Wright, a senior forward from
Stratford-Upon-Avon, England, led the team and ranked second in the
CACC with 16 goals on the year. He also leads the team and
ranks second in the conference in points (38), third in the CACC
points per game (2.00) and goals per game (0.84). He led the
team with 67 shots this season and ranked fourth in the CACC, while
being ranked second in the conference with five game-winning
goals. Wright's recently earned his third
consecutive appearance on the All-CACC First Team, his third
appearance on the Daktronics East Region Second Team and his first
Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II First Team
All-Star honor.
Huxtable, a junior defender who hails from
Toronto, Ontario, started all 19 games this season. He is a
crucial part of a Charger defense that has allowed just 16 goals
all season and has helped the team record six shutouts this
year. He recently earned his first appearance on the All-CACC
First Team, Daktronics East Region Second Team honors and Eastern
College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Second Team All-Star honors.
