NYACK WARRIORS UPSET #23 DOMINICAN COLLEGE

Orangeburg, NY (11/2/09) The seventh seeded Warriors of Nyack College upset the second seeded Chargers of Dominican College, who are also ranked 23rd nationally in the NSCAA/Adidas Poll, 1-0 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarter-Final game held at the OMM Field.
The game was scoreless until the 79th minute of play when freshman Mikey Robinson (Dagenham, England) retrived a ball cleared by the Charger defense and put a shot past the DC keeper for the game winning goal.
Nyack controlled the offensive end of the game, outshooting the Charges 21-18. DC held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Charger keeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) had eight saves in the loss.
Warrior goalie Adrian Ibanez (Toronto, Canada) made six saves in the victory.
With the win #7 Nyack (8-11-1) improves to the CACC Semi-Finals which will take place on Wednesday at Wilmington University.
The Chargers fall to 13-3-2 overall.
