FIVE MEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-CACC TEAM

Orangeburg (10/28/09) Five players from the Dominican College men's soccer team have been named to the All-CACC First and Second Teams as was announced today by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Office.
Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England), Clifton Huxtable (Toronto, Ontario) and Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) have earned All-CACC First Team honors, while James Hamilton (Paisley, Scotland) and Diego Barahona (Stamford, CT) have been named to the All-CACC Second Team. Freshman Pedro Franklin De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) received Honorable Mention honors as was voted upon by the conference's twelve head coaches.
Wright, a senior forward, leads the team and is
ranked second in the CACC with 15 goals on the year. He also
leads the team and ranks second in the conference in points (34),
points per game (2.12) and goals per game (0.94). He leads
the team with 63 shots this season and is ranked fourth in the
CACC, while being ranked second in the conference with five
game-winning goals. This is Wright's third
consecutive appearance on the All-CACC First Team.
Huxtable, a junior defender who has started all 16
games this season, is part of a Charger defense that has allowed
just 13 goals all season and has helped the team record six
shutouts this year. This is his first appearance on the
All-CACC First Team.
Heembrock, a sophomore keeper, has started all 16
games in the net this season. He leads the conference in
goals against average (0.79), save percentage (.875) and shutouts
(6). He ranks third in saves (91) and fifth in saves
percentage (5.69). This is his first All-CACC First Team
honors as he was named to the Second Team in 2008.
Hamilton, a senior midfielder, makes his second
straight appearance on the All-CACC Second Team. A two-year
captain of the Chargers, he has started 13 out of 14 games played
this season and is a leader both on and off the field. He
ranks third on the team in goals (3) and tied for second with four
assists.
Barahona, a graduate student midfielder, leads the
team with five assists on the year. He has started all 16
games this season and makes his second appearance on an All-CACC
Team as he earned First Team honors in 2008.
De Araujo, a freshman midfielder, has started all
16 games this season. He ranks second on the team with four
goals scored.
The Chargers are currently 12-2-2 overall and 7-2-1 in the CACC. They are in second place in the CACC and are currently ranked fourth in the latest NCAA East Region and NSCAA/Adidas East Region Rankings and 23rd in the NSCAA/Adidas National Poll.
