Philadelpha, PA (10/11/08) The Dominican College men's soccer team tied with host Philadelphia University, 2-2 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer game.
The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute of action as Michael Mousaw took the cross pass from Ryan Flaherty at the 18 yard line to score the goal.
CACC Player of the Week, James Hamilton (Paisley, Scotland) tied the game at 1-1 in the 56th minute as he took a shot off a foul which deflected of a Ram player and into the net.
Philadelphia University regained the lead in the 62nd minute as Sean Campbell took a far corner pass from Mousaw and scored the goal from the 18 yard line.
Dominican again came back to tie the game in the 79th minute as senior midfielder Diego Barahona (Stamford, CT) netted a goal from outside the 18 yard line.
After two overtimes the scored remained 2-2, thus bringing DC's record to 9-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the CACC, while the Rams now stand at 6-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in the CACC.
Charger keeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) had 11 saves in the tie.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they take on CACC rival, Nyack College at 3:30 pm at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
