CHARGERS SOCCER DEFEAT ST. ANSELM COLLEGE AT MERRIMACK INVITATIONAL

North Andover, MA (9/13/08) The Dominican College men's soccer team defeated St. Anselm College, 2-1 this afternoon on day one of the Merrimack College Invitational.
With the win the Chargers improve to 3-1 overall, while St. Anselm falls to 2-4 overall.
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute when Anthony Galluzzo (Londonderry, N.H.) netted his first goal of the season.
Dan Kelly (Massapequa Park, NY) netted the first goal for the Chargers with just 24 seconds remaining in the first half as he knocked in a rebound near the goal line to tie the game at 1-1.
DC took the lead at 66:26 of the second half when Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) fired a shot that deflected in off of Saint Anselm goalie Henry Domenie (Old Saybrook, CT) for the game winner goal.
Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) made five saves for the Chargers, while Hawk keeper Domenie had nine saves in the loss.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow as St. Anselm will face off against Post University at 12pm and Dominican will face #8 Merrimack College at 2pm.
