CHARGERS SOCCER RANKED 5TH IN NATION; TOP TEAM IN EAST REGION
Orangeburg, NY (9/2/08) The Dominican College men's soccer team has been ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II and first in the East Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the NSCAA/Adidas Regional and National Rankings which were released today.
Orangeburg, NY (9/2/08) The Dominican College men's soccer team has been ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II and first in the East Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the NSCAA/Adidas Regional and National Rankings which were released today.
Dominican went 2-0 last week at the Franklin Pierce Labor Day Classic to start the season. DC turned back Southern Connecticut State University, 3-0 on opening day and stunned pre-season #1 and defending National Champions, Franklin Pierce University, 2-0.
This is the highest national ranking for the Chargers in program history. Last year the team was ranked as high as sixth in the nation.
The Chargers take on LeMoyne College Dolphins tomorrow in a non-conference game at the Torne Valley Sports Complex. Game time is set for 2pm.
