DOMINICAN'S WRIGHT NAMED CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
New Haven, CT (9/17/07) Chad Bennett of Caldwell College and Sargbah Tarpeh of Wilmington University have been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer co-Players of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 16. Joe Wright of Dominican College has garnered Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

New Haven, CT (9/17/07) Chad Bennett of Caldwell College and Sargbah Tarpeh of Wilmington University have been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer co-Players of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 16. Joe Wright of Dominican College has garnered Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.
Bennett, a 5-9 junior forward from Kingston, Jamaica, scored two goals last week, including the game-winner 55 seconds into overtime in a 2-1 win over Molloy. He also scored in a 3-0 win over Chestnut Hill College.
Tarpeh, a sophomore forward from Philadelphia, netted both of Wilmington's goals in a 2-0 victory over Mercy. He tallied his goals in the fifth and 85th minutes.
Wright, a sophomore forward from
Stratford-Upon-Avon, England, scored Dominican's lone goal in a 1-1
tie against Bloomfield on Saturday. He got off nine shots against
the Deacons, which tied for the team lead.
Honorable Mention
Walter Soto, Bloomfield (Jr., D, North Bergen, NJ) - Scored Bloomfield's lone goal in a 1-1 tie against Dominican Saturday.
Alexander Waters, Chestnut Hill (So., M, Upper Marlboro, MD) - Scored three goals in a 1-1-1 week for the Griffins.
Abby Walker, Post - Netted the game-winning goal in the 102nd minute to give the Eagles a 2-1 win over Stonehill.
CACC Men's Soccer Notes
Caldwell - Caldwell won both of its games last week, handing Molloy College and Chestnut Hill College their first losses of the season while running its own unbeaten streak to four games. Junior forwards Chad Bennett and Luis Sartorio both scored in each game for the Cougars, while sophomore midfielder Peter Carlsson recorded a goal and an assist against Chestnut Hill.
Felician - Felician had not reached double-figures in shot attempts in its first six matches before getting off 22 in Saturday's tie at Goldey-Beacom. Junior midfielder Jorge Cedeno scored his first collegiate goal in that game. Junior GK Paulo DosSantos has double-figure save totals in five of seven starts.
Post - Sophomore Abby Walker scored the game winning goal in the 102nd minute to give Post a 2-1 overtime win against Stonehill in the first round of the Merrimack Tournament last Saturday afternoon. It was Walker's first goal of the season and second of his career. Freshman Frantzy Noze notched his first career tally in the first half. Post travels to Nationally ranked Bridgeport on Thursday, before welcoming Chestnut Hill to LaMoy Field for the first-ever meeting as CACC foes.
