Men's Soccer

CHARGERS SOCCER WIN AT AIC CLASSIC

Holyoke, MA (9/1/07)  The Dominican College men's soccer team picked up their first win of the season this afternoon by beating Merrimack College, 2-1 in overtime at the American International College Classic.

The Warriors got on the board in the 26th minute of play as Tiago Dalboni put the ball in the top right corner of the goal off the assist by Chris Bierbaum to take a 1-0 lead.

The Chargers tied the game tied the game at 76:12 on the unassisted goal by senior Joseph Ruesgen (Campbeltown, Scotland).

 In overtime, senior Ryan Clancy (Pine Bush, NY) took a great pass from forward Jhonny Arteaga (Stamford, CT) to break away and put the ball in the net for the game winning goal at 94:00.

With the win, Dominican improves to 1-0-3, while Merrimack falls to 2-1-1.

The Chargers are back in action tomorrow when they take on host American International College at the AIC Classic.
