Dominican College Men Earns First Berth In NCAA Tournament

Blauvelt, NY (11/7/05)The Dominican College men's soccer team, which is currently ranked seventh in the nation, has received a bid to the NCAA Tournament. This is the first bid in program history for the Chargers who were given the top spot in the New England Region.

DC will receive a first round bye and will take on the winner of the Franklin-Pierce/LeMoyne game which will be played either Thursday or Friday of this week. Dominican will travel up to Franklin-Pierce either Saturday (November 12) or Sunday (November 13) for the second round game.

Dominican is currently 18-1 overall and recently won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament this past weekend.

The first- and second-round dates, sites and team match-ups are as follows:

New England Region

Site: Franklin Pierce College, November 10 and 12

Rindge, New Hampshire

Teams: 1. Dominican (New York) (18-1-0) first-round bye

2. *Franklin Pierce (13-5-4)

3. Le Moyne (14-5-2)
