2012-2013 Dominican College Men’s Lacrosse Season Summary
The Dominican College men’s lacrosse program finished the 2012 season with a 0-12 record and an East Coast Conference (ECC) record of 0-7.
Dominican also took the program’s first trip to the West Coast for two non-conference games against Dominican University and Notre Dame de Namur.
DC squared off against four nationally ranked teams, all whom are members of the ECC. The Chargers faced Molloy College, NYIT, Dowling College and LIU Post.
Junior goalie, Matthew Quinones, led ECC in saves and save percentage. He also ranked second national in saves per game and 7th in save percentage.
Junior Anton Gjeloshi ranked 14th nationally in ground balls per game. He finished 4th in ECC in face-offs and 5th in ground balls.
Senior defender Conlan Pierce earned All-ECC Honorable Mention honors this season for his role as the anchor of the Charger defense.
Midfielder Thomas Dertinger finished second on the team in goals and points, while Jusstin Ruffin was third in goals, assists and points.
Pierce was awarded the DC Men’s Lacrosse Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his stellar defense and team leadership. Teammate Daniel Steigert was the recipient of the Coach’s Award.
This season was the finale for four seniors: Steigert, Pierce, Andrew Slater and Justin Sullivan.
