2010 Dominican College Men’s Lacrosse Season Summary

 

The Dominican College men’s lacrosse program finished the 2010 season with a 6-10 record and an East Coast Conference (ECC) record of 4-6.  DC won their first ECC game in program history this season with a 15-2 victory over Chestnut Hill College and set a new program record for wins in a season this year.

 

Junior midfielder Alex Jones led the Chargers this season with 39 goals and 47 total points, while finishing fifth on the team with eight assists and second with 56 ground balls.  He ranked sixth in the ECC in goals per game.  For his efforts he received All-ECC Honorable Mention honors.

 

Junior Jesse Peterson led the team with 18 assists and had 19 goals for 37 points on the season.  He was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Men's At-Large Second Team.  Transfer Daniel Metoyer finished second on the team with 42 points as he recorded 27 goals and15 assists.

 

Senior Remo Montalbano tallied 27 goals and 13 assists for 40 points, while Christopher Jones led the team with 90 ground balls and recorded 152 faceoffs won.

 

Christopher Krutzler also earned All-ECC Honorable Mention honors as he played in 15 games this season as the leader of the Charger defense.  He tallied 37 ground balls this season and was one of the team captains.

 

Freshman Korin Pierce had a fine rookie campaign, finishing second in goals (21) an third in assists (8) for a total of 29 points.  Fellow rookie, Gabe Sutherland netted 20 goals and seven assists for 27 points.

 

Goalie Brendan Bonacum had 190 saves for a .531 save percentage in 16 games in the net.  He finished fourth in the ECC in saves per game (11.88).

 

As the program set new season records for overall and conference wins in the season, the team will return a strong core of veteran players for the 2011 season.
