CHARGERS LACROSSE LOSE TO MERRIMACK COLLEGE
North Andover, MA (3/10/11) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to 0-2 overall after losing to host, #5 Merrimack College, 17-7, this evening in a non-conference game. With the victory Merrimack improves to 2-0 on the season.

Senior midfielder Alex Jones (St. ALbert, AB, Canada) led the Chargers in goals with three goals and one assist for four poiints on the night. Teammate Jesse Peterson (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) tallied two goals and three assists to lead Dominican in points with five points.
Merrimack held a 1-0 lead when Jones scored back-to-back goals with both assists coming from Peterson to take a 2-1 advantage with 8:45 left in the first period. A 4-0 run by MC regained a 5-2 lead for the Warriors before Peterson scored a man-up goal off the pass from Jones to cut the defict to 5-3. Three more MC goals made the score 8-3 at the end of the first period.
The Warriors outscored the Chargers 4-1 in the second period with the lone DC goal coming with 2:03 left in the period on the man-up goal by Peterson off the assist from junior Michael Holl (Montvale, NJ) to make the score 12-4 at the break.
The third period saw MC extend their lead to 15-4 as they scored all three goals of the period.
Dominican opened up the fourth period scoring as Jones netted his third goal of the game off Peterson's third assist of the contest. Two more Warrior goals made the score 17-5 with 9:17 left in the game. Freshman Parker Price (Colorado Springs, CO) scored his first goal of the game with 8:40 on the clock off the assist from Collin Madsen (Salt Lake City, UT) and attacker Chris Delaney (Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada) closed out the scoring for the game with an unassisted goal with 2:06 left in the game.
Goalie Brendan Bonacum (Port Jefferson Station, NY) made 16 saves in 52:56 minutes of action. Andrew Slater (Brookfield, CT) finished out the last 7:04 in goal.
