Blauvelt, NY (4/13/07) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Seton Hill University, 11-3 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field in a non-conference game.
Seton Hill led 1-0 after the first quarter, but DC answered back with four answered goals in the second and added another with just five seconds remaining in the half to take a 5-2 lead.
SHU cut the lead to 5-3 early in the third quarter but would be shut out the rest of the way as Dominican scored six answered goals for the 11-3 victory.
Justin Menefee (Glen Burnie, MD) led Seton Hill with two goals, while Justin Starkey (Bethel Park, PA) scored the other goal. Ben Petchel (Bethel Park, PA) had two assists and Chris Horigan (Franklin, MA) had the other assists.
DC had six players netting goals, led by Owen Smith III (Cornwall, NY) with three goals and one assist. Joe Cobis (Riverhead, NY), Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) and Micah Brown (Flanders, NY) all had two goals a piece, while Cobis added two assists. Jeremy Arcaro (New Windsor, NY) and Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY) each netted a goal. Smith and Montalbano each had an assisted in the win.
Seton Hill goalie Biran Kusterer (Howard, MD) suffered the loss with 10 saves.
Charger goalie Joe Assante (Weston, NY) got the win to improve on 2-7 on the year with eight saves.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 2-7 on the year, while Seton Hill drops to 4-7.
