CLINTON NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR AND TWO PLAYERS EARN ALL-CACC RECOGNITION

(2/28/13) Dominican College men's basketball coach, Joe Clinton, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Coach of the Year as the 2012-2013 All-CACC Men's Basketball Teams were announced by the conference office today. Two members of the team also received All-CACC accolades.

(2/28/13) Dominican College men's basketball coach, Joseph Clinton, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Coach of the Year as the 2012-2013 All-CACC Men's Basketball Teams were announced by the conference office today. Two members of the team also received All-CACC accolades.
Chargers, Leon Porter II and Cory Quimby*, both received All-CACC recognition in voting done by the conference's head coaches.
Clinton was selected as the CACC Coach of the Year by his peers after guiding the Chargers to a North Division title and a 21-5 overall mark (15-3 CACC). Clinton guided his team to numerous appearances in the NABC Top 25 Coaches Poll this season, finishing the regular season ranked 23rd. His team has also been in the two NCAA East Region Polls this season in the sixth and fifth positions. This is Clinton's fourth CACC Coach of the Year honors as he previously won in 1995-96, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. He currently has a career coaching record of 329-316 and a CACC coaching record of 210-156.
Porter, a senior guard from Laurel, Md., a 2010-11 CACC Second Team selection and a 2011-12 CACC First Team selection made his third All-CACC appearance this season and his second consecutive First Team appearance. He currently leads the team and ranks 11th in the conference in points per game and is sixth in the conference in points. Porter also ranks fifth in free throw percentage, fourth in free throw attempts and ninth in three-point attempts.
Quimby, a senior center from Otisville, N.Y. was named to the All-CACC Second Team this season after earning First Team and Co-Player of the Year accolades in the 2011-2012 year. He currently ranks fifth in the conference in offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds and total rebounds and is sixth in rebounds per game. Quimby is second on the team in scoring and leads the Chargers in rebounding. He is also currently ranked 12th in the nation in double-doubles and is 18th in rebounds per contest.
