QUMBY NAMED TO CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT ® TEAM

(2/1/13) Dominican College men's basketball player, Cory Quimby, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District ® First Team as was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America yesterday. Quimby is one of two players from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) to be named to the District 1NCAA Division II First Team.

Quimby is one of two players from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) to be named to the District 1NCAA Division II First Team.
The 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.
Quimby, a senior from Otisville, N.Y., has started all 21 games for the Chargers this season. He is averaging the team's only double-double of 14.0 ppg and 10.4 rpg. He netted his 1,000th career point in January and has tallied 13 double-double game performances this season.
He ranks third in the CACC in rebounds per game and is third in NCAA Division II in double-doubles.
Quimby, who is majoring in Criminal Justice, has a GPA of 3.33.

The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2012-13 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
