(1/29/13) The Dominican College men's basketball team won their fourth straight game this evening after downing host, Caldwell College, 83-68, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division Clash at the George R. Newman Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 17-3 overall and 11-1 in conference play.

(1/29/13) The Dominican College men's basketball team won their fourth straight game this evening after downing host, Caldwell College, 83-68, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division Clash at the George R. Newman Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 17-3 overall and 11-1 in conference play.
The first half was tied at 16-all when a 9-2 DC run put them ahead 25-18 with 7:28 on the clock. A trey by junior Kahleev Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) made the score 30-23, but the Cougars came back with the next 10 points to go ahead 33-30. A three-basket by A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) re-tied the game at 33-33, but Caldwell rallied once again outscoring DC, 6-4 for a 39-37 lead at the break.
DC shot 45.5% from the floor in the first half and were 5-11 (45.5%) from three points range for the half.
A 23-6 Charger run over the first ten minutes of the second half gave the team a commanding 60-45 lead and DC would lead by as many as 16 points twice in the stanza en route to the 83-68 victory.
Dominican finished the contest shooting 54.1% (33-61) from the floor.
Ginyard led three Chargers in double-figures with 17 points (6-8 from the floor; 5-7 from the three point arc) and four assists.
Senior Cory Quimby* (Otisville, N.Y.) recorded his 12th double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Leon Porter II (Laurel, Md.) finished with 11 points and three assists.
Burton and Nick Smith (Middletown, N.Y.) scored a combined 17 points for DC off the bench in the win.
The Chargers are back in action on Thursday evening as they host, Nyack College at 8pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
