CHARGERS RALLY TO DEFEAT FELICIAN COLLEGE

(1/21/13) The Dominican College men's basketball team rallied from a six-point deficit at halftime to defeat the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 71-58, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Following the victory, Dominican improves to 14-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play.

(1/21/13) The Dominican College men's basketball team rallied from a six-point deficit at halftime to defeat the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 71-58, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Following the victory, Dominican improves to 14-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play.
Dominican held an 11-7 lead with just under twelve minutes to go in the first half when the Golden Falcons used a 14-5 run to turn the tables and take a 21-16 lead. A free throw with one tick left on the clock gave Felician a 31-25 advantage at the break.
Felician extended the lead to eight points (35-27) early in the second stanza, but the Chargers charged back with a 15-4 tear, capped off with back-to-back dunks by A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and Nick Smith (Middletown, N.Y.) to regain the lead at 42-39 with 14:35 to go. Dominican would never trail again in the contest and led by as many as 16 points (65-51) as they went on to the 71-58 win.
Burton led four Chargers in double digits with a career high 21 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Guard Leon Porter II* (Laurel, Md.) tallied 15 points (8-10 from the charity stripe) and had three assists.
Smith finished with 14 points (6-8 from the floor) and four rebounds, while Cory Quimby* (Otisville, N.Y.) scored 10 points, seven boards and a team leading four assists.
The Charger bench were pivotal in the win with a combined 35 points.
DC is back in action on Wednesday evening as they travel to Post University.
