QUIMBY SELECTED CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Orangeburg, NY (2/20/12)  Dominican's Cory Quimby has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 19.  University of the Sciences player, Garret Kerr, earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Quimby, a junior center from Otisville, NY, averaged 20.0 points and 9.3 rebounds while shooting .610 (25-of-41) from the field over three wins last week.  He recorded back-to-back double-doubles in a wins over Caldwell College and Holy Family University.  This is his second CACC Player of the Week honors this season.

Kerr averaged 17.0 ppg and 11.5 rpg while extending his streak of double-doubles to 19 straight. This marks the third consecutive week and the seventh time overall that Kerr has been named the CACC Rookie of the Week this season.  Shot a solid .600 (12-of-20) over three games last week.

 

Honorable Mention
Alberto Munoz, Holy Family (So., G, 6-5, Morrisville, N.C.) - Averaged 20.0 points , 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over two games last week.

 

Temi Adebayo, Philadelphia (Sr., C, 6-5, Ibadan, Nigeria) - Recorded 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.5 blocks while shooting .687 (11-of-16) over two games last week.

 

Chris Hampton, Nyack (Fr., G, 5-10, Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Registered 20.3 points over three games last week, including a 30-point effort vs. Caldwell.

 

Zach Krischer, Post (So., G, 6-1, Port Jefferson, N.Y.) - Registered 18.5 points and 2.0 steals while shooting .542 (13-of-24) from the field over two games last week.

 

Matt Wafula, Bloomfield (Sr., F, 6-6, Harlem, N.Y.) - Tallied 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals while leading the Deacons to a 2-0 mark last week.
