CLINTON EARNS 300TH VICTORY AS MEN'S BASKETBALL CHARGE PAST WILMINGTON UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, NY (1/28/12) Dominican College men's basketball coach, Joe Clinton, earned his 300th career win as the Chargers defeated the visiting Wildcats of Wilmington University, 74-62, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 11-7 overall and 4-6 in conference play.

With the win, Dominican improves to 11-7 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
Dominican wasted no time as they quickly took an 11 point (15-4) lead early in the first stanza and increased the lead to 40-13 with just under a minute to play. The Wildcats closed out the first half with a 7-2 run to cut the defict to 42-20.
The Chargers kept a double-digit lead for most of the second half until the 4:41 mark when a WU layup made the score 59-50. A Charger 10-3 run rebuilt a 69-53 advantage, but the 'Cats once again cut the lead to nine points (69-60) with under a minute to go. Over the next 26 seconds, Dominican scored five unanwered points to regain a double-digit lead as they went on to the 74-62 victory.
Junior Cory Quimby* (Otisville, NY) had the game's only double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, NY) recorded 13 points, while forward Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, MD) tallied 13 points, shooting 6-8 from the floor, off the bench in the victory.
Guard Leon Porter II* (Laurel, MD) added nine points and a game leading nine assists.
DC returns to action on Wednesday evening when they host Post University in a CACC North Division game to be played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Game time is set for 8pm.
