Philadelphia, PA (1/24/12) The Chestnut Hill College men's basketball team scored 52 points in the second half as they defeated the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 72-57, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Sorgenti Arena.
Philadelphia, PA (1/24/12) The Chestnut Hill College men's basketball team scored 52 points in the second half as they defeated the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 72-57, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Sorgenti Arena.
Dominican trailed 18-11 with 5:48 to play in the first half when the Chargers came back with a 10-1 run to take a 21-19 lead at the intermission.
DC opened up the second half with a three point basket by guard Leon Porter II* (Laurel, MD) to take a 24-19 lead, but the Griffins rallied with a 16-6 run to go up 35-30. CHC increased the lead to 52-42 with 8:47 to play and went on to the 72-57 victory.
Porter led three Chargers in double figures with 16 points, while A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, NY) added 11 points and three steals. Cory Quimby (Otisville, NY) scored 10 points and seven rebounds. Johnathan Brown (Central Islip, NY) also had seven rebounds in the loss.
With the loss Dominican falls to 9-7 overall and 2-6 in the CACC.
The Chargers return to action on Thursday evening when they travel to CACC North Division foe, Nyack College. Game time is set for 8pm.
