The Chargers trailed by a point (28-27) with just under two minutes left in the first stanza when they went on a 7-0 run to claim a 34-28 lead at the break. Dominican would never trail again in the contest, leading by as many as 14 points as they went on to the 75-66 victory.
Powered by junior forward Cory Quimby's* (Otisville, NY) 26 points and 14 rebounds, the Chargers found a spark they lacked in their previous game. Quimby achieved his 5th double-double of the season on a day that saw him shoot an outstanding 13-19 from the field.
Guards Leon Porter II* (Laurel, MD) and Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, NY) added 16 and 11 points respectively and were the only other Chargers to score in double digits. Porter also contributed a game high 7 assists.
Concordia couldn't take advantage of a decided advantage in rebounds, managing to pull down 52 boards to the Chargers 42. However, they struggled offensively, shooting just 30.7% from the field, making just 23 of their 75 attempts. The Clippers were lead by forward Argelix Gil (Brooklyn, NY) who recorded 12 points and 17 rebounds. Norman Pope (Washington, DC) lead the team with 16 points on 4-15 shooting.
The Chargers begin a four game road trip at Bloomfield College, Tuesday, December 6th. The Clippers have two homes against Nyack and conference leading Caldwell next.
