MEN'S BASKETBALL WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT GAME WITH VICTORY OVER PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY
Philadelphia, PA (1/27/11) The Dominican College men's basketball team won their fifth straight game and improved to 11-8 overall and 7-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 72-62 victory over host, Philadelphia University this evening.

Dominican outscored the Rams 9-4 to start the game off as senior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) scored six of those points. The Rams came back to hold a small 13-11 lead with 10:13 left in the first half, but a 20-9 Charger run regained a 31-22 lead with 3:25 left on the clock. Five Ram points closed out the first half and saw the Charger lead at 31-27.
The Chargers never trailed in the second half, although Philadelphia cut the lead to a point three times early in the second half. A 14-5 DC run gave them their biggest lead (53-43), capped off by a three point bucket from freshman guard Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, NY) with 11:24 remaining in the game.
DC led by as many as 13 points (60-47 and 66-53) in the half and the team went on to the 72-62 victory.
Ginyard led all scorers and three Charger players with 21 points, shooting 7-12 from the three point arc. Sophomore guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Hodzic tallied 12 points, a game leading 10 rebounds and three blocks for his eighth double-double of the season.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they host the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center at 3pm.
