STRONG SECOND HALF LEADS CHARGERS BASKETBALL OVER POST UNIVERSITY
Waterbury, CT (12/8/09) The Dominican College men's basketball team tallied 44 points in the second half to defeat host Post University, 75-58, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action from the Drubner Center.

The first half was a tight knight battle that saw the Charger have five point leads twice before entering the intermission with a 31-30 advantage. The Eagles took an early lead in the second half, but a three-point bucket by freshman Gerald Hill (Baltimore, MD) gave the Chargers a two-point lead and they never looked back en route to the 5-58 victory.
Rookie point guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) led Dominican with 16 points, a game leading seven assists and six rebounds in the victory. Senior forward Zach Huston (Binghamton, NY) netted 15 points and seven rebounds, while Hill finished with 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Junior Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) had a great night for the Chargers with 11 points, a game leading eight caroms and three steals in the victory.
Nyheem Sanders (Pawtucket, RI) and Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn, NY) led the Eagles with 12 points each in the loss. Marquis Grant (Jamaica, NY) came off the bench to record a team leading seven rebounds.
With the victory Dominican improves to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the CACC, while Post falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.
The Chargers are back in action on Thursday when they take on CACC foe, Concordia College, for an 8pm game on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
