BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE TOP DOMINICAN MEN'S BASKETBALL
Bloomfield, NJ (2/4/10) The Bloomfield College men's basketball team topped the visiting Dominican College 77-69, this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's action.
Bloomfield held an 18-10 lead with just over nine minutes remaining in the first half and led by as many as 12 points en route to a 35-28 lead.
The Deacons never trailed in the second half, extending their lead to as many as 13 points as they would end up with the 77-69 victory.
Junior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) and freshman guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) led the Chargers with 13 points a piece, with Hodzic adding a double-double with a game leading 16 rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Mike Calzonetti (Gloucester, NJ) added 10 points, while freshman Preston Smith (Mays Landing, NJ) added a game leading four steals.
With the loss Dominican falls to 10-13 overall and 6-6 in the CACC.
The Chargers are scheduled to return to action on Saturday when they host CACC foe, Wilmington University on Coach Baxter Court for the 23rd Bobby Mulligan Memorial Game. Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm.
