PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY BEATS MEN'S BASKETBALL

Orangeburg, NY (1/23/10) The Dominican College men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to the visiting Rams of Philadelphia University, 74-46 this afternoon on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
The Rams opened the game on a 10-1 run and extended their lead to 27-9 with 6:26 and took a 38-14 lead into the intermission. Philadelphia continued on the offensive taking a 54-19 lead with 13:36 left in regulation and never looked back en route to the 74-46 victory.
The Rams were led by senior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD) who netted a game leading 24 points and a team leading four assists in 38 minutes of action. Jim Connolly (Harleysville, PA) chipped in 16 points, shooting 4-6 from the three point arc, while Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA) contributed 12 points and five rebounds.
Junior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) and freshman guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) each netted 10 points to lead Dominican with Porter adding a game leading eight rebounds and seven assists.
With the loss Dominican drops to 8-11 overall and 4-4 in the CACC, while Philadelphia improves to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in the CACC.
