CHARGERS BASKETBALL WIN AT ADELPHI UNIVERSITY TIP-OFF CLASSIC

Garden City, NY (11/15/08) The Dominican College men's basketball team opened up the 2008-09 season with a win against Concordia College, 85-68 this evening at the Adelphi University Tip-Off Classic.

Garden City, NY (11/15/08)  The Dominican College men's basketball team opened up the 2008-09 season with a win against Concordia College, 85-68 this evening at the Adelphi University Tip-Off Classic.

Will Carty (Bronx, NY) led all scorers with 21 points (5-7 from three point land) and grabbed a team leading nine rebounds.  Senior guard Brandon Brock (Newburgh, NY) added 13 points, while junior Zach Huston (Johnson City, NY) contributed 12 points and eight boards in the win.

Kenny Gaskins led the Clippers with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Samuel Batista added 14 points and seven caroms, while Jetmir Shala scored 10 points off the bench.  Dan Cunningham had a team leading 10 rebounds in the loss.

With the win Dominican improves to 1-0 overall while Concordia falls to 0-1.

Dominican is back in action tomorrow when they take on host Adelphi University at 4pm.
