MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO POST UNIVERSITY EAGLES

Waterbury, CT (2/19/09)  The visiting Dominican College Chargers fell to host Post University, 88-73 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball action from the Drubner Center.

The Eagles held a nine point lead,  16-7 with 13:30 left in the first half and extended the lead to 46-36 at the intermission.  Post shot 50% (17-34) from the floor in the first stanza and went 7-15 (46.7%) from the three point line.

DC cut the lead to 13 points with under six minutes to go on back to back treys by senior Will Carty (Bronx, NY) but that is as close as they would get as the Eagles went on to the 88-73 victory.

Carty led the Chargers with 20 points, going 4-6 from the three point line and had six rebounds.  Senior guard Brandon Brock (Newburgh, NY) netted 16 points off the bench, shooting 6-9 from the charity stripe in the loss.

Freshman Brandon Romain (Brooklyn, NY) led the Eagles with 22 points.  Senior Omar Robinson (Brooklyn, NY) had the game's only double-double with 18 points and 12 boards in the win.  Rob McClain (Waterbury, CT) scored 11 points.

With the victory Post improves to 15-9 overall and 9-5 in the CACC, while Dominican falls to 9-16 overall and 4-10 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they host Chestnut Hill College on Senior Day at the Hennessy Center.  Game time is set for 3pm on Coach Baxter Court..
